Summary

Lead end-to-end product design for Brisk Teaching, an AI-powered edtech platform that simplifies teachers' administrative tasks. Shape the future of educational technology while directly impacting teaching and learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities: Lead user-centered product design from ideation to execution, rapidly prototype and iterate based on user feedback and data. Collaborate with founding team and cross-functional partners to build intuitive solutions using user research, usability testing, and data analysis.
Skills & Tools: 4+ years of product design experience with expertise in Figma, strong understanding of user research and usability testing, and exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Bias for action, ability to balance speed and quality, and passion for improving education.
Qualifications: 4+ years of product design and UX/UI experience in fast-paced startup environments with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work. Preferred experience in early-stage venture-backed companies, edtech, or as a founding/early-stage designer.
Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California, United States (office collaboration twice per week)
Compensation: $150,000 – $190,000/year

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of Brisk’s design culture, processes, and product experiences. You’ll work closely with the founding team and cross-functional partners to build intuitive, engaging solutions that enhance teachers’ and students’ experience in the classroom. You’ll have the autonomy to experiment, move quickly, and make a significant mark on both our product and our growing design team.


YOU WILL:

  • Lead end-to-end product design, from ideation to execution, ensuring engaging and user-centered experiences.
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on designs based on user feedback, data, and business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with our founding team, product designers, product managers, engineers, and educators to shape innovative learning solutions.
  • Utilize a blend of user research, data analysis, and usability testing to drive design decisions.
  • Be scrappy—move fast, challenge assumptions, and find creative ways to solve design problems with limited resources.
  • Articulate design decisions effectively across teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and enthusiasm.

YOU HAVE:

  • 4+ years of experience in product design and UX/UI.
  • Previous work experience in an early-stage venture-backed company.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design work and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Expertise in Figma.
  • Experience working in fast-paced startup environments with a bias for action.
  • Ability to balance speed and quality—knowing when to perfect and when to ship.
  • Strong understanding of user research, usability testing, and data-driven design.
  • A proactive approach to work and the ability to lead problem-finding and problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for education and improving teaching and learning experiences.

BONUS:

  • Prior experience running user research.
  • Prior experience in an edtech company.
  • Been a founding or early-in-team designer.
