Summary

The Software QA Engineer II creates and maintains automated test suites for Nelnet Business Services, focusing on building test strategies and test cases to prevent defects and improve product quality. This role works with minimal supervision and contributes to continuous improvements in the QA process.

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites while defining testable user stories with Product Owners. Collaborate with developers to solve problems, execute test strategies, evaluate results, and onboard new team members.
Skills & Tools: Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset with proficiency in programming and automated testing tools. Excellent communication, time management, and ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required; 3+ years of QA experience with similar products and 2+ years with programming and automated testing tools. Experience with Appium is a plus but not required.

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000/year

The Software QA Engineer II creates and maintains automated test suites. This position focuses on building test strategies and test cases to test the product, prevent defects, and improve quality. The Software QA Engineer II works with minimal supervision and has a solid understanding of the products’ business domain. In addition, this position contributes to improvements in the overall quality assurance process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of automated test suites.

2.   Work effectively to define testable user stories, especially acceptance criteria with Product Owners and stakeholders.

3.   Create, design, and execute test strategies, including writing test plans, test cases and test scenarios.

4.   Evaluate and report test results, test progress, and product quality.

5.   Respond to change quickly, including changing, adding, or improving automated tests.

6.   Works closely with developers to solve problems and improve QA strategies.

7.   Is a resource for onboarding new team members.

8.   Ensures proper use of automated testing tools and look for ways to improve processes.

**Pay Range for this position is - $85,000 - $100,000

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.

EXPERIENCE: 

1.   3+ years of experience with NBS products or similar position at another company.

2.   2+ years of experience with programming and automated testing tools.

3. Experience with Appium is a plus but not required.
