Summary

Business Development Representative at KnowBe4 responsible for identifying and qualifying sales prospects for the world's largest security awareness training platform. The role focuses on outbound prospecting to build a pipeline of interested customers for Territory/Account Executives.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct cold outreach via phone and email to prospective customers, qualify their interest and fit for KnowBe4 products, and hand off qualified leads to assigned Account Executives. Maintain persistence and organization in managing multiple prospect interactions and follow-ups.
Skills & Tools: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly phone presence and ability to engage prospects effectively. Proficiency with Gmail, Google Docs, MS Office, and sales tools/CRM systems, with knowledge of IT security concepts preferred.
Qualifications: Familiarity with IT security field practices and concepts is advantageous. No specific education or years of experience are explicitly required; candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and results-oriented capabilities with ability to handle rejection and persistence.
Location: Hybrid — New York City, New York, United States
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $45,000 – $60,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

The Business Development Representative is responsible for reaching out to prospects, qualifying them and passing interested prospects to their assigned Territory/Account Executive(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Reach out via phone and/or email to cold prospects and get them interested in a KnowBe4 product
  • Gauge the interest of prospects to qualify them as potential customers
  • Pass the qualified and interested prospects to their assigned Territory/Account Executive(s) 

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the IT Security Field a plus
  • Experience with Gmail and Google Docs
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Experience with a CRM or other Sales Tools a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Good computer skills
  • Friendly phone voice
  • “Pleasantly persistent” as it can take multiple tries to reach a prospect
  • Ability to leave a message and sound interested
  • Must be highly organized and results-oriented
