Summary

Sales Development Representative at Newsela driving growth through lead generation and pipeline building for the Sales team. This role serves as the initial point of contact with prospects, representing the future of education and helping districts and teachers enhance student engagement.

Key Responsibilities: Research, qualify, and engage leads through calls and emails; respond to inbound inquiries; conduct product demonstrations to drive discovery calls. Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities while collaborating with the Sales organization on strategy and process improvements.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in Salesforce.com and sales platforms such as Salesloft, Outreach.io, or Yesware; excellent communication and empathy skills with ability to establish clear value propositions. Strong ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and execute flawlessly through creative collaboration.
Qualifications: 1+ year of lead generation or inside sales experience with demonstrated success engaging prospects through email and phone conversations. Ability to manage pipelines tactfully, meet team goals, and connect buyer/user needs to product offerings.

Compensation: $55,000 – $80,000/year (Base salary $55,000 + On-target commission $25,000)

The role:

  • As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) you will work across Newsela’s Sales organization to support aggressive growth by researching, prospecting through calls and emails, and qualifying leads in order to build pipeline for Sales Representatives. 
  • Your days will be composed of responding to inbound inquiries, proactive cold outreach to potential new customers, and providing online product demonstrations that draw prospects into initial discovery calls and identify key needs that ultimately lead to qualified opportunities for our Sales team.

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $55,000
  • On-target commission (OTC): $25,000
  • On-target earnings (OTE): $80,000

Total compensation for this role also includes incentive stock options and benefits.
