Summary

Sr Compensation Analyst at Macmillan Learning responsible for developing, implementing, and administering compensation plans to attract and retain employees. This role serves as an internal compensation consultant partnering across HR, Finance, and Legal to maintain compensation integrity and market competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities: Serve as first point of contact for compensation inquiries including market analysis, job evaluations, pay equity, and reward cycles. Evaluate market surveys, benchmark jobs, support annual compensation planning, analyze data for recommendations, and implement compensation-related systems and policies.
Skills & Tools: Strong analytical and data management skills with proficiency in HR systems and compensation technology. Excellent communication and consultation abilities to partner effectively with HR, managers, and finance teams on compensation strategy.
Qualifications: Minimum of five years of meaningful compensation experience at a mid to large-size employer required; CCP or similar professional designation preferred. Bachelor's degree implied based on compensation analyst role level.

Job Description

Our newly created Compensation Sr Analyst will assist in developing, implementing, and administering compensation plans to attract, retain, and engage employees. This  critical role will serve as an internal compensation consultant and will partner with HR, Managers, Finance, and/or Legal to maintain and increase the integrity of compensation guidelines, polices, and procedures.

What you'll do:

  • First line of contact for inquiries related to market analysis, job evaluations, pay guidelines, pay equity, the annual reward cycle, and any ad hoc compensation and/or recognition programs.
  • Keep up to date on market trends and recommend how market updates/changes will impact compensation philosophies.
  • Participate in and help to evaluate relevant market surveys pertaining to compensation and pay practices to maintain market competitive programs.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition as needed on evaluating compensation for new job requests to identify alignment with existing jobs or determine need for new job including a review and determination of FLSA status
  • Partner with HRBP and HRIS teams on the annual compensation planning process, including budgeting, establishing guidelines, preparing communication, and auditing data
  • Provide support to existing and incoming HR technology solutions and programs for the Compensation function
  • Partner with HRIS on various compensation projects and leverage HR systems to maintain critical data elements
  • Support implementation and maintenance of compensation related systems
  • Evaluate and benchmark jobs to determine market competitive base, bonus and total cash compensation
  • Communicate and implement compensation-related policies, guidelines, and/or procedures
  • Support reward cycle process
  • Support HR and managers with salary negotiations and determinations
  • Run analytical reports and analyze data sets to develop sound recommendations

What you'll bring:

  • CCP or similar designation preferred
  • Minimum of five years of meaningful work experience in compensation or a related field is required
  • Previous experience working in compensation or a related field at mid to large size employer

This role will have an annual salary range of $85,00-100,000.
