Skills & Tools: Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with an outgoing personality and independent sales drive. Proficiency in virtual selling, research, and cross-functional collaboration required.
Qualifications: Current internal employee of Lakeshore Learning Materials (external candidates not eligible). Prior sales experience or demonstrated ability to drive business development preferred.
Location: In-Person - Carson, CA
Compensation: $32K–$48K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

We are seeking a Territory Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on forging relationships and exceeding customers’ expectations. The right candidate has an outgoing personality and thrives on driving sales independently. Strong communication skills will be needed as this role spends most of the day on the phone building lasting customer relationships. This is a fast-paced and exciting sales role, and you will be tasked with growing new business and achieving sales quotas/daily activity goals. This role is fully remote, so candidates can be based anywhere in the US.

A typical day in the job looks like this: 

  • Securing new and repeat business by building strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders via virtual appointments and outbound phone calls 
  • Partnering with schools and childcare centers on a regular basis to assess emerging and ongoing needs 
  • Pursuing relationships with city, county and state government officials, and community-based organizations to support cutting-edge learning environments for children 
  • Hosting virtual product presentations and events designed to familiarize customers with proprietary services (Complete Classrooms®, professional development, conference support, etc.) 
  • Conducting online research to gather information pertaining to local, state and national trends and funding opportunities in early learning and elementary education 
  • Working with department leadership to form and modify sales strategies 
  • Working with your internal support team sales team and marketing group to fine-tune messaging and collateral materials to support your markets 
  • Partnering with sales, retail, and our professional services group to support the needs of local educators 
  • Maintaining an ongoing awareness of local, state and national trends and funding opportunities in early learning and elementary education
