Summary

HR Assistant role at StrongMind supporting the Human Resources department with administrative tasks in a collaborative, innovative edtech environment. The position ensures efficient HR operations while maintaining employee records and supporting compliance with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Perform administrative tasks including maintaining electronic and physical employee files, assisting with onboarding and payroll functions, processing separation paperwork, and supporting HR inquiries. Additional duties include arranging meetings, planning HR events, conducting internal audits, and performing clerical functions like photocopying and document filing.
Skills & Tools: 1+ years HR or administrative experience with exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities required, with ability to manage sensitive situations professionally and quickly learn payroll management and HRIS systems.
Qualifications: AA in Human Resources or related field highly preferred with 1+ years HR experience. Experience in a school or educational environment is a plus, and previous UltiPro experience is advantageous.

Compensation: $35,000 – $45,000/year

StrongMind is seeking a dynamic individual to join our innovative team as a Human Resources Assistant. As the HR Assistant, you will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations for the Human Resources department.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Support the daily operations of the HR team
  • Maintain all electronic and physical employee files
  • Assist the HR Generalist in ensuring that employee files are kept in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of HR files and records
  • Make photocopies, fax documents, file documentation appropriately, and perform other clerical functions
  • Assist in the creation of new employee files
  • Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
  • Complete separation paperwork and exit interviews
  • Assist in the onboarding process
  • Arrange meetings and maintain calendars
  • Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, etc.
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure that all employee documentation is collected and maintained according to all applicable rules and regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

The Successful Candidate possesses:

  • 1+ years’ experience in Human Resources and/or administrative environment
  • Experience in a Human Resources role in a school environment highly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resources information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Previous UltiPro experience a plus
  • AA in Human Resources or a related field highly preferred
  • Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures
