About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic FinOps Analyst to join our team and help optimize cloud financial operations. You'll be an integral part of our overall cloud efforts, being a member of many cross-functional teams that include Product Management, Architecture, Software Development, Service Delivery, and Finance. You will serve as a subject matter expert in the FinOps practice, cloud service costs, discount instrument management, resource utilization, and analytics space. You will collect, monitor, and analyze data, assist with forecasting, demand planning, and make recommendations on cost optimization strategies such as reservations, savings plans, shutdown schedules, etc. Duties and tasks are varied and complex, requiring the ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member. This role requires comfort in preparing and presenting reports to various parts of the business from technical team members to senior leaders. Experience is required with using cost, utilization, and resource data to develop relevant, accurate and timely reporting, providing visualizations and informative perspectives across and up the organization. The candidate in this role must be self-motivated, driving to short-term and long-term deadlines, removing blockers and understanding when escalation is needed to avoid impact to delivery. The role requires the ability to be flexible What you’ll be doing: Cloud Cost Management Monitor and analyze cloud spend across Azure and AWS. Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives to reduce waste. Identify and implement tagging strategies to drive cost allocation maturity. Collaborate with Finance and Product management to refine unit cost accuracy Maintain a high degree of utilization across the Organizations commitment portfolio Collaborate with Cloud Service Providers on Enterprise discounts, credits or other cost efficiencies Reporting & Forecasting Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for cloud usage and cost trends. Align FinOps reporting with Finance cost allocation mechanisms Partner with finance to support budgeting and forecasting processes. Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders on cloud financial performance and/or cost optimization opportunities Engage in senior and executive level leadership cloud financial reporting FinOps Best Practices Promote FinOps principles across engineering and product teams. Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Engineering to align usage with business priorities. Support governance and policy enforcement for cloud resource usage. Influence and establish cloud usage best practices to drive cost efficiency Leverage cloud native and 3rd party FinOps tools (Cloudwatch/Cloudability/Apptio) Automate reporting and alerting for anomalies in cloud spend. What we’ll want you to have: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field. 3+ years of experience in cloud financial operations, cloud cost optimization, or related roles. Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and billing models. Experience with FinOps tools and cloud cost management platforms. Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. FinOps Certified Practitioner (preferred but not required). AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals (preferred but not required).
