Role Snapshot
Lead a software engineering agile team at Scholastic to develop quality education products while mentoring engineers and ensuring software meets customer needs. Drive technical architecture decisions and foster best practices across the team.
Key Responsibilities: Lead software implementation and architecture decisions, mentor team members on engineering best practices, conduct code reviews, manage backlog grooming and sprint estimation, and partner with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to deliver quality software and resolve production incidents.
Skills & Tools: Deep expertise in modern web development, backend languages (Java, Python), cloud services (AWS), and Agile methodologies; strong knowledge of DevOps, quality engineering, performance engineering, security, and site reliability engineering principles.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with prior experience in senior engineering roles; strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
Location: New York
Compensation: $128Kโ$145K/yr
