Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $80,000 - $120,000.
Position Overview:
This position will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic acquisitions in the K–12 software space. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across finance, product, legal, and senior leadership to help drive inorganic growth through well-informed and strategic acquisition strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Market & Target Research: Conduct in-depth research on the K-12 EdTech market to identify potential acquisition targets aligned with the company strategy. Analyze industry trends, competitive landscapes and emerging technologies to inform M&A strategy. Leverage external data sources (e.g. market reports) to assess target companies positioning and growth potential.
- Outreach and Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with potential targets, industry analysts, advisors, and other external stakeholders.
- Target Evaluation: Analyze financial statements, operating metrics, customer profiles, and product fit of potential targets to assess strategic alignment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred (MBA or CFA a plus).
- 2–4 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategy.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for education and technology
- Excellent research skills with the ability to synthesize data from diverse sources
- Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with the education technology or K–12 market is preferred, but not required
- A self-starter with strong business judgment
