Are you ready to take your first step with us?

The role:

We are looking for an experienced Looker Data Analyst to join us on a freelance basis, working approximately 10–20 hours per week, fully remote. This role sits within our Growth Team and is focused on turning complex business data into clear, actionable insights.

This isn't just a dashboard-building role. We want someone who can dig deep into our data, ask the right questions, and tell a compelling story with the answers. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into analysis that drives real decisions.

You'll receive thorough onboarding and training on our historical business data so you can hit the ground running.

Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder partnership: Work closely with teams across the business (marketing, sales, product, customer success) to understand their data challenges, reporting cadence, and decision-making patterns. The goal is to deeply understand what they need before building anything.
  • Dashboard design & consolidation: Design and maintain a lean set of dashboards in Looker that serve cross-team needs. Actively resist dashboard sprawl — when a new request comes in, the first question is whether an existing dashboard can be extended, not whether a new one should be created.
  • Looker Explore development: Build and maintain efficient, well-documented Looker Explores that empower business users to self-serve for ad-hoc questions without needing a new dashboard every time. Work with the data engineering team to ensure Explores are grounded in the right data models and perform well at scale.
  • Insight & analysis: Go beyond chart-building — investigate the "why" behind trends, surface patterns stakeholders haven't asked about yet, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Documentation & standards: Maintain consistent metric definitions, dashboard documentation, and naming conventions so that reporting stays trustworthy and navigable as the organisation grows.

Requirements:

  • Experience building and maintaining dashboards in Looker, with a strong understanding of LookML, Explores, and Looker's modelling layer
  • Strong SQL skills - you're comfortable writing and optimising complex queries
  • A track record of consolidating or rationalising reporting — you've seen dashboard sprawl and know how to prevent it
  • The ability to turn data into a story - not just charts, but insights that lead to action
  • Experience running Looker Explores and a solid understanding of data modelling concepts
  • Strong analytical judgement and the confidence to draw conclusions independently
  • Clear communication skills - you can explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously in a remote, async environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
  • Background in SaaS or product-led analytics
  • Experience with Salesforce and familiarity with Looker-Salesforce integrations
