Role Snapshot
Data Science Manager at Top Hat leading a team of data scientists to develop AI-driven personalization and analytics solutions for higher education, directly impacting learning outcomes for millions of students.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a data science team while delivering AI and analytics solutions including predictive models, personalization features, and recommender systems. Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Learning teams to ship data-driven features at scale and establish standards for experimentation and model governance.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch); proficiency with cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Spark); hands-on experience with LLM-based applications and agent frameworks; strong business acumen, experimentation skills, and executive communication abilities.
Qualifications: 2-4 years managing data scientists or ML engineers with 6-8 years total experience in data science, ML, or applied statistics. Background in education analytics and experience with personalization, recommender systems, or predictive analytics in production preferred.
Location: Canada
Compensation: CA$110K–CA$150K/yr
