Summary

The Program Manager, Events & Engagement oversees the full lifecycle of conferences and events for Sophia Learning, from strategy and planning through execution and ROI analysis. This role balances logistics management with strategic thinking to optimize brand presence, lead generation, and engagement across events.

Key Responsibilities: Manages event logistics, stakeholder coordination, budgeting, and promotional materials while leading quarterly conference initiatives and organizational memberships. Partners with cross-functional teams to develop event strategies, track success metrics, execute marketing alignment, and drive post-event analysis for continuous improvement.
Skills & Tools: Strong organizational and time management abilities with excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency in CRM systems, vendor negotiation, budgeting, and data-driven decision making. Must demonstrate cross-functional collaboration, executive presence, detail-oriented execution, and strategic thinking with capability to handle competing priorities.
Qualifications: Minimum 4 years of experience in event management, marketing, or corporate communications, preferably in a SaaS environment, with a Bachelor's Degree required. Salesforce Certification is preferred; occasional travel required.

The Program Manager, Events & Engagement is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing Sophia’s conference and event presence. This role goes beyond logistics—owning the full event lifecycle from strategy and metrics tracking to marketing alignment, CRM management of leads, and ROI analysis. The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional environments, balancing detail-oriented execution with a strategic mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages requests, fulfillment, and tracking of promotional materials (swag, sales collateral, etc.) in coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Leads quarterly conference, event, and membership initiatives—including planning, logistics, stakeholder coordination, and delivery of supporting marketing assets.
  • Oversees organizational memberships with industry associations and conference hosts; manages renewals, benefits, and relationship maintenance.
  • Coordinates the call-for-proposal and presentation process, partnering with internal subject-matter experts to identify speaking opportunities, draft submissions, and ensure strong brand representation.
  • Develops and executes event strategy roadmaps that align with company goals, GTM priorities, and budget considerations.
  • Collaborates with Partnerships, Product, and Leadership teams to ensure events support product marketing and partner acquisition objectives.
  • Tracks and manages event budgets, ensuring spend aligns with forecasts and stays within approved limits; proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Partners with Marketing and Sales to define event CTAs, develop follow-up workflows, and track engagement outcomes.
  • Establishes event success metrics (e.g., leads, pipeline impact, audience engagement) and reports on ROI.
  • Maintains a calendar of events and memberships, evaluating opportunities to maximize brand exposure, thought leadership, and lead generation.
  • Collaborates with Marketing team to ensure consistent brand storytelling across all event touch points.
  • Drives post-event analysis and share insights to improve future strategies and outcomes.

  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided.
