Location: This is a hybrid internship based in New York, NY, requiring in-person attendance on Wednesdays.
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $20 - $30 per hour.
Internship Program Overview
BrainPOP’s Summer 2025 Internship Program provides an opportunity for college students to learn about the EdTech space from an industry leader and brand beloved by teachers and students. BrainPOP’s intern will participate in business relevant projects, collaborate with teams and leaders in the organization, and take part in our unique culture.
We are a hybrid workplace, and we welcome the Intern to work in the BrainPOP NYC office on Wednesdays during the course of the internship. Each Wednesday we’ll provide lunch, opportunities to interact onsite with teams, and host special programming and events throughout the experience.

Details
- Paid Internships for college students
- 8 weeks: June 9 - August 1, 2025
- 35 hours per week: Monday through Friday from 9:30 am - 5pm (30 minutes lunch).
- Hybrid schedule: Wednesdays in-person at the BrainPOP Office in NYC, with the option to work remotely on other days
- Lunch provided every Wednesday in the BrainPOP Office
- Special events and learning oriented programming
About The Role
BrainPOP’s Research and Design Team is part of the Product function. We lead user research and product design efforts that improve our product offerings and the overall user experience. The research team is responsible for learning about customers, end users, and general market landscape to better inform the design and product decisions we make.
In this internship, you’ll learn about the user research process from beginning to end. You’ll contribute to projects that evaluate existing functionality and explore new product features. You’ll partner with the Lead User Researcher and broader Product team to learn about planning, executing, and analyzing research projects. You’ll also get exposure to the systems we use to do all of the above.
In This Role, You Will
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Learning Designers to drive research projects forward
- Be exposed to various research methods (i.e. interviews, usability testing, A/B tests, etc.)
- Deliver actionable insights that clearly identify problem areas, opportunities, or key next steps
- Help craft clear, precise research plans with well-defined requirements and/or instructions for collaborators
- Contribute to insights repository with both original insights and an eye on connecting the dots to a broader body of work on a theme/trend
On Your Resume
- A rising college junior or senior (preferred); preferred courses of study include Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Sociology
- Basic understanding of core research methods a strong plus; methods include interview, co-design facilitation, diary study, moderated/unmoderated usability, survey
- Ability to learn new concepts, frameworks and processes quickly, and apply learnings to tasks and projects in real time
- Comfortable communicating within the team/squad, and with key stakeholders and partners in the business
- Able to distill and communicate information and key findings as they emerge, and in summary at the end of a study
Location
The BrainPOP team operates in a hybrid work environment: Each role has remote flexibility and an in-person component at our New York headquarters or other meeting locations. Based on the requirements of a specific role, we may prioritize hiring within a commutable distance of our New York headquarters or in another region relevant to that role.
