Job Description

About Magma Math

Magma is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most celebrated EdTech companies, transforming math education through the power of AI. Our platform turns handwritten solutions into digital insights, empowering teachers to focus on creativity and deeper learning, while giving them real-time visibility into student progress.

The result? More inclusive, engaging, and effective math classrooms for all learners.

But we’re not just building better tools. We’re tackling one of the biggest challenges in global education: math underperformance. With 1 in 5 students globally struggling in math, a subject that forms the backbone of so many career paths, we believe the opportunity to improve outcomes at scale is massive. We act as owners, put teachers first, are ambitious, and work as a team.

The Role

You'll be one of the first people a superintendent or math director hears from at Magma, and how you break in is up to you. You'll research districts, work out who really makes the call, and find creative ways in: a sharp cold call, a well-timed email, a drop-in, a conversation on a conference floor. There's a lot of phone time, so if you want a role where cold calling is optional, this isn't it. If you want to get very good, very fast, it is.

‍

What you'll do

  • Break into districts across the US however it takes: cold calls, email, LinkedIn, even turning up at the district office. The more creative, the better

  • Run real discovery: understand a district's problems before you pitch anything

  • Travel to education events across the country, prospect on the floor, and build a strong network of senior education leaders

  • Shadow AEs on live deals and help win new logos, not just hand them off

  • Sell with an AI-first stack: overnight account research, clean contact data and AI call coaching, so your time goes on conversations, not admin

Who you are

  • ‍You've become great at something (sport, music, school, a job) through hard work and coaching. It doesn't have to be sales.

  • You want feedback and you act on it fast

  • You're highly organized. You own your week and prioritize effectively

  • You're competitive, high-energy and know what you're working towards

  • You're excited by tech and AI, and like trying new things

  • Customer-facing experience is a plus (hospitality, retail, campus jobs, anything). BDR experience is a plus too, but not required. Exceptional new grads welcome.

What we offer

  • Direct access to our President, VPs and CEO. A whole team that wants you to win.

  • Hands-on coaching from top performers in the skills that make great sellers: discovery, objection handling and winning over senior buyers

  • Get properly AI-fluent: learn to build your own AI workflows for research, prep and self-coaching, a skill set most sellers don’t have yet

  • Real progression to Senior BDR, Team Lead, AE or AM. Strong performers can move within 12 months, and we’ve promoted BDRs to AM in the last six months.

  • Accelerators for top performers, plus regular incentives: cash, trips, team nights.

  • Travel across the US for events (all expenses covered), plus an annual company trip

  • An opportunity to work on a meaningful mission and have an exceptional impact on education, society and how children learn math across the world
