Role Snapshot
The Executive Director, CEO Initiatives serves as the CEO's deputy at The College Board, managing the CEO's strategic priorities, daily engagements, and external relationships to advance organizational goals. This role operates at the center of the organization, translating enterprise priorities into focused, effective CEO leadership while strengthening the College Board's external reputation and influence.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct strategic support to the CEO as a primary thought partner on strategic, operational, and reputational matters, while orchestrating the CEO's day-to-day engagements and decisions with discipline and intent. Supervise a team of three, manage external relationships, ensure effective CEO engagement with senior leadership, and translate strategy into action across the organization.
Skills & Tools: Strong judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex, high-stakes environments with senior leaders. Must be externally oriented, capable of supervising senior leaders, shaping strategy in real time, and ensuring disciplined execution across multiple fronts.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred, with 10-15 years of relevant experience working with senior executives in complex organizational settings. Demonstrated experience as a strategic advisor and problem solver in executive-level roles.
Location: New York, New York
Compensation: $190K–$220K/yr
