As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) you will work across Newsela’s Sales organization to support aggressive growth by researching, prospecting through calls and emails, and qualifying leads in order to build pipeline for Sales Reps. Your days will be composed of responding to inbound inquiries, proactive cold outreach to potential new customers, and providing online product demonstrations that draw prospects into initial discovery calls and identify key needs that ultimately lead to qualified opportunities for our Sales team.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Collaborate within the Sales organization to inform strategy and processes that enhance overall sales performance.
- Thrive within a highly supportive team environment, backed by robust sales training, enablement, marketing, and operations.
- Act as the initial point of contact with prospects, representing the future of education, enhancing how districts and teachers engage students, and providing approaches that allow educators to design customized learning for different reading levels.
- Gather insights and feedback from the market to directly influence and drive future product enhancements.
- Drive high-volume outbound prospecting through a strategic blend of automated and highly personalized email cadences, along with targeted daily phone outreach to school’s key decision makers, including school administrators and instructional coaches.
- Partner closely with a dedicated Account Executive (AE) to align on territory strategy, coordinate outreach, and seamlessly book introductory meetings with qualified prospects.
- Collaborate with the SDR team to review calls, share what’s working with one another, and continuously iterate on outreach strategies, crafting scripts and customized talk tracks that deliver the messaging that resonates best within the market.
About You:
- 1+ year of lead generation or inside sales experience, with a proven track record of engaging prospects through email and phone conversations that lead to qualified meetings; K-12 EdTech experience a plus.
- Ability to be a territory expert by continuously researching your region, tracking account activity, and managing thousands of school accounts across designated states.
- Utilize data insights and maintain meticulous CRM data hygiene to track cadences, prioritize active leads, and ensure efficient pipeline management.
- Demonstrate a high intrinsic drive, excellent time management and organization, and a proactive approach to managing your daily responsibilities.
- Leverage Salesforce.com experience and sales process training to tactfully manage a pipeline, meet and exceed team goals, and maintain meticulous CRM data hygiene.
- Familiar with sales platforms such as Salesloft, Outreach.io, or Yesware.
- An excellent communicator who can truly empathize with the challenges our different buyers face.
- Able to establish clear value propositions that connect buyer/user needs to the product and services we offer.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and use your creativity when partnering with team members to ensure flawless execution.
- Experiencing using AI tools to drive greater efficiency and productivity.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection is required, as this is a fully remote role that depends on consistent video conferencing and CRM system access.
- Professional fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, including the ability to conduct calls effectively, write clear and grammatically accurate emails, and document activity precisely.
- Legal authorization to work in one of the following countries is required: Argentina; Brazil; Chile; Colombia; Costa Rica.

- This contract position and is paid a monthly rate (USD).
- This person must be located in one of the following countries: Argentina; Brazil; Chile; Colombia; Costa Rica.
- Please note that given the nature of the position, this role will not be eligible to participate in company-sponsored benefits.
- This contract is estimated to last 12 months with the potential for extension, although an extension is not guaranteed.
