Summary

The Senior Regional Sales Manager for California will lead a high-performing sales team to drive business development and exceed revenue targets in the K-12 education market. This key leadership role involves creating and executing regional strategies while managing major strategic accounts and fostering partnerships across the state.

Key Responsibilities: Develop regional business development strategies, manage and coach a sales team, travel with representatives to meet district leaders, drive new business in priority accounts, and manage regional events. Support the sales process including new account development, presentations, pricing, RFP responses, and maintain a broad network of customer relationships.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in K-12 sales with proficiency in Salesforce CRM, strong presentation and communication abilities, and proven ability to inspire and mentor high-performing sales professionals. Requires analytical skills, knowledge of CA K-12 education policy, and familiarity with technology and curriculum-based products, particularly Lexia.
Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of success selling to K-12 school districts and proven sales management experience leading collaborative teams. Preferred qualifications include advanced degree, Lexia product experience, educator/administration background, and deep knowledge of California K-12 education.
Location: California, United States; requires up to 50% travel

Senior Regional Sales Manager, California Account Executive Team

Location: Ideal candidate will reside in California

Job Overview:

The Senior Regional Sales Manager for the California Region is a key leader who is responsible for creating and executing on a regional business development action plan while managing a large team of high performing sales professionals in order to achieve and exceed revenue goals. This person will be responsible for both new business origination and renewals, accurate forecast performance, development and nurturing of customer relationships, and providing leadership for major strategic K-12 education market accounts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and drive regional strategy to gain access for new business, while sustaining and expanding existing partnerships.
  • Leverage state education policy across the region to nurture and develop large district partnerships.
  • Set clear team performance goals while coaching, developing, and reviewing results.
  • Continually analyze account development and service priorities to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
  • Travel with sales representatives to meet with district and school leaders while developing and maintaining a broad network of customer relationships.
  • Support sales representatives throughout the sales process that includes new account development, preparing presentations & price quotes, and responding to RFPs.
  • Personally drive new sales and expansions in priority district accounts.
  • Manage regional events to ensure they are properly planned, staffed and executed to maximize return on investment.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of success selling into K- 12 school districts, preferably representing a technology and curriculum (reading) based product highly preferred.
  • Experience as a proven sales manager and managing a highly collaborative team.
  • Proven ability to inspire, model, mentor, provide feedback for, and coach highly skilled sales professionals.
  • Experience with Lexia products highly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of CA K-12 education; Educator/Administration experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to uncover client needs and propose solutions to close new business opportunities and exceed revenue targets.
  • Proficient user of CRM (Salesforce), MS Office and Google Suites, video conferencing software and other technology-based productivity tools.
  • Proven analytical, writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional presentations and written proposals to both groups and individuals.
  • Proven ability to develop customer relationship and collaborate with management on strategies to achieve revenue goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
