Skills & Tools: Sales leadership and team coaching with proven ability to manage P&L and budgets; strategic planning and relationship-building in the education sector. Strong communication skills, market trend analysis, and ability to develop competitive sales materials and lead generation strategies.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business management, education, or related field with sales experience in a quality-driven organization and proven leadership of outside sales teams. K-12 sales experience and education industry knowledge strongly preferred.
Location: In-Person
Compensation: $140K–$200K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

Savvas is seeking a Director of Sales to support the sales of our K-12 Curriculum in our Tennessee and Georgia territories. The Director will propose and execute policies and programs to achieve maximum sales volume potential for all products and/or services. Working with the Regional Vice President of Sales, Finance, and Operations, the Director of Sales will set revenue objectives for the growth and be responsible for the achievement of these objectives.

This position will be required to attend on-site customer meetings throughout Tennessee and Georgia. Candidates must reside within the territory to be considered.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership - 75%

Coach and mentor Account Managers to drive sales within a specific territory.

Conduct Forecast and pipeline review meetings with account managers.

Ensure lead generation and pipeline growth will sustain revenue targets.

Provides feedback to marketing, program management, and other supporting departments regarding market trends, competition and changes in teacher licensure/recertification, and other factors impacting sales.

Assist with the development of new sales materials.

Leads regularly scheduled internal staff development meetings.

Oversees professional development of all sales staff.

Assist in hiring, training, and evaluation of sales team.

Lead and execute ongoing territory strategic planning with managed sales team.

Business development - 15%

Strategic planning and development of new business for open territory and/or state adoptions.

Identification and relationship of key executives within our largest customers.

Marketing - 5%

Assist with the development of marketing plans.

Establish lead generation efforts across all programs.

Operations - 5%

Collaborate on the marketing, expansion, and development of programs.

Communicate/coordinate with supporting departments in reference to sales-related issues.

Represent sales at Senior leadership team meetings.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

BA; business management, education, or related field; or BA with excellent work-related experience.

Sales experience in a sales-driven, quality-oriented organization.

K-12 sales experience preferred.

Experience leading an outside sales team.

Experience managing P&L and budget process.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES

Ability to develop strategic plans that support company goals

Ability to mentor and coach sales leadership and to supervise and motivate staff in implementing and expanding sales.

Advanced skills in opening sales territory and bringing new ideas for efficient marketing of distance courses and programs.

Strong skills in sales in an educational business environment; ability to find funding sources.

Experience leading an outside sales team.

Knowledge of selling to the education industry.

Experience managing P&L and budget process.

OTHER

Significant travel within the territory will be required.
