Qualifications: 8-10 years of relevant experience in automation, digital publishing, content operations, or related fields. Preferred experience in educational or digital publishing environments, workflow automation tools, Adobe InDesign scripting, and XML-based publishing systems.

Location: In-Person

Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $95,000 – $130,000/year based on Lead-level seniority, 8-10 years of experience, and educational technology sector focus.

Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated Digital Publishing Automation Engineer to support and enhance our digital content production and publishing workflows. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical skills with excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication to help automate processes, improve efficiency, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality digital content.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for digital content production and publishing workflows.
Create and manage scripts to automate repetitive tasks and streamline operational processes.
Work with structured content and data formats to support content transformation and delivery.
Troubleshoot workflow issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Collaborate with editorial, production, and technology teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Monitor publishing workflows and proactively communicate risks, dependencies, and potential bottlenecks.
Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the content lifecycle.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and recommend automation opportunities.
